Reporting to the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent, the incumbent will:
- Plan, schedule and organize the Maintenance Operations activities of Operations staff and Contractors working within the 12 Hour Mobile Unit
- Supervise Maintenance Operations staff and Maintenance Contractors
- Investigate and respond to complaints and inquiries from the public, outside agencies and other government officials
- Liaise with staff and other departments internally and externally
- Maintain accurate and organized records in sewers, roads and water systems. Develop and implement training for all employees regularly
- Develop, organize, implement and administer duties for Depot personnel, Finance and Maintenance Management Systems
- Participate in the standing agreement and tender document preparation processes as required
- Participate in the Labour Relations and Talent Acquisition processes as required
The successful applicant will possess:
- A post-secondary diploma with specialized courses in roads, water and sewer systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- An Ontario Water Distribution Class 1 Licence and a Wastewater Collection Class 1 Licence
- Extensive work-related experience in the design, maintenance and construction of sewage collection, water distribution systems and road system maintenance
- Knowledge and understanding of Maintenance Management System, Design Guidelines and Standards, Ministry of Transportation, Water Distribution System, Waste Water Collection, municipal by-Laws and Drinking Water Quality Management Standards (DWQMS)
- Knowledge and understanding of costs associated with various maintenance operation activities as they relate to Road, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection systems
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access) and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, supervisory, problem-solving, analytical, prioritization and organizational skills
- A commitment to including to inclusive dialogue and ensuring diverse voices are heard
- A valid Ontario Class G Driver's license (or higher) in good standing and a current Driver's Abstract from the Ministry of Transportation
