Position Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a temporary, full-time Apprentice Electrician with the City of Kamloops! We are looking for a 3rd or 4th year apprentice who is a motivated and safety sensitive team player. Under the direction of a Journeyperson Electrician, this role will assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in municipal buildings, infrastructure, and public facilities.

Our ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications:
- Completion of year two of schooling towards completion of a Red Seal Trades Qualification in Electrical.
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence - Class 5
- Minimum 2500 hours working on electrical installation, maintenance and repair.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.

This is a temporary position for approximately one year.
Hourly Rate
$40.570 to $45.343 (2025)
Hours & Days of Work
Fortnight 7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday with every second Friday 7am to 3pm
