Our Corporate Services Department is seeking an Integration & Cloud Developer who will design and deliver enterprise integration solutions, enabling secure and scalable data exchange across systems. The role focuses on building cloud-native reliable integrations, including serverless and event-driven architectures, while providing technical leadership and collaborating with various stakeholders.
You are: An Integration & Cloud Developer with hands-on expertise in building and maintaining API-driven integrations and cloud-native solutions. You work effectively in fast-paced, client-focused environments across Azure and on-premise enterprise platforms, delivering scalable, durable, and secure services. You lead complex integration initiatives, collaborate across functional teams, and drive improvements in standards and delivery practices. You stay current with modern cloud technologies and integration patterns.
This role:
- Designs, develops and maintains enterprise integration solutions using cloud-based workflow orchestration platforms; architects and implements automated business workflows connecting internal and external systems; builds API integrations and connectors to enable data exchange between enterprise applications; develops integration patterns including real-time synchronization, batch processing and event-driven architectures; and leads integration projects from requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing support.
- Designs and develops serverless functions and microservices for cloud-native applications; implements event-driven architectures using cloud messaging and event services; builds software systems and web services to support business applications for continuous integration and deployment; optimizes cloud resource utilization, performance and cost efficiency; and develops solutions that leverage cloud platform services for storage, queuing and compute.
- Develops automation scripts for system administration, deployment and operational tasks; creates infrastructure solutions for cloud resource provisioning and management; automates repetitive IT processes to improve operational efficiency; and develops monitoring and alerting solutions for cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Implements security best practices including authentication, authorization and data protection across all integration and cloud development work; aligns technical solutions with enterprise architecture standards and related policies.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation for integration solutions and architectural decisions; conducts code reviews and ensures adherence to coding standards and best practices; and contributes to the development of technical standards, patterns and reusable components.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members; evaluates emerging technologies and makes recommendations for adoption; and collaborates with architects and stakeholders on solution design and technology strategy.
- Collaborates with business stakeholders and internal teams to understand business requirements and deliver technical solutions; independently determines technical solution design and architecture, integration patterns and workflows, cloud services, automation approaches and implementation methods, as well as security, performance and reliability considerations.
- Performs related work as required.
To be successful, you have:
- Completion of a University degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related discipline, supplemented by training or certification in cloud platforms, integration technologies or software development plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, techniques and methods associated with enterprise integration patterns and architectures related to cloud-based workflow orchestration, API management, connectors and data transformation.
- Considerable knowledge of serverless computing platforms, development and cloud-native application architecture; of scripting languages for automation and system administration and of programming languages suitable for cloud development.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and techniques associated with data schema design and data security best practices.
- Considerable knowledge of cloud platform services including landing zone topologies, storage, messaging, identity management, networking, security and cost optimization of systems and services related to the work.
- Considerable knowledge of software and related applications, integration architecture and data processing techniques; of infrastructure tools, practices and automated software deployment processes; and of operations and functions of departments served.
- Ability to design, develop and implement complex integration solutions, serverless applications and automation frameworks aligned with enterprise architecture standards and security policies.
- Ability to architect technical solutions, including determining integration patterns, cloud services, API designs, automation approaches and implementation methods to meet business requirements.
- Ability to evaluate emerging integration and cloud technologies and to make recommendations for adoption and standardization across the organization.
- Ability to lead integration and cloud projects from requirements gathering through deployment, providing technical direction, documentation and follow-up services as required.
- Ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior developers and to conduct code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of contacts and to provide advice and assistance on matters related to the work.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to present complex topics in non-technical language to various stakeholders.
- Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia.
