Job Title: Automotive Mechanic
Job Description
This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive and truck systems in line with OEM standards and safety procedures, with a strong emphasis on radiator replacement and general mechanical work. You will use your technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and certification to perform accurate repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting across a variety of vehicle systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive and truck systems in accordance with OEM standards and established safety procedures.
- Perform complete radiator replacements, including removal and installation, coolant flushes, pressure testing, and verification of proper cooling system operation.
- Read and interpret service manuals, technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and work orders to complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect vehicles for additional mechanical issues and communicate findings to supervisors or service coordinators for further action.
- Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialty tools required for cooling system work and general mechanical repairs.
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks on vehicles, including inspections and routine service work to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and repair engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and other key automotive systems as required.
- Perform calibration and adjustments on relevant vehicle systems to meet performance and safety specifications.
- Follow all shop safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding repair status, parts requirements, and any unexpected issues that arise during service.
- Perform repetitive mechanical tasks with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Lift and move parts or components weighing up to 50 pounds as required for repair and maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
- Valid 310S or 310T automotive certification.
- Proven experience performing radiator replacements, including removal, installation, coolant flushes, and pressure testing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and cooling system issues.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting service manuals, technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and work orders.
- Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialty tools.
- Solid understanding of preventive maintenance practices within the automotive industry.
- Ability to follow OEM standards and shop safety procedures consistently.
- Capability to lift and move components up to 50 pounds safely.
- Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and service coordinators.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working as an automotive mechanic, diesel mechanic, automotive body technician, or automotive technician.
- Experience in automotive industry environments, including general automotive repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with calibration procedures for various automotive systems.
- Experience performing brake service, electrical diagnosis, and general automotive maintenance.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
