Position Summary
The Maintenance / Driver is responsible for maintaining the facility and equipment in safe working condition while supporting transportation and operational needs within the healthcare setting. This role includes completing day-to-day maintenance tasks, responding to facility-related issues, transporting supplies and equipment, and supporting overall site operations.
The successful candidate will work to minimize downtime, ensure safety standards are maintained, and contribute to efficient daily operations that support patients, staff, and facility needs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks throughout the facility
- Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and organized manner
- Understand and perform basic electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration repairs
- Perform maintenance in patient and common areas, including:
- Plunging toilets
- Unclogging drains
- Repairing hardware
- Replacing lamps
- Maintaining air conditioners and related equipment
- Follow and update the preventative maintenance calendar as tasks are completed
- Maintain maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies as needed
- Ensure the facility and all related equipment are maintained in a safe and efficient manner
- Respond to emergencies as needed to protect patients, staff, and facility systems
- Monitor fire alarm and safety systems and respond appropriately during emergencies
- Carry out oral and written instructions effectively
- Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets at all times
- Train and support other staff members through sharing knowledge and skills
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Driver Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport supplies, equipment, and materials
- Operate vehicles such as box trucks and other facility vehicles as required
- Follow all transportation safety regulations and company policies
- Plan efficient routes using maps and GPS systems
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or vehicle maintenance needs immediately
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and supplies
- Maintain accurate transportation and maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding deliveries, scheduling, or delays
- Support operational logistics and transportation needs for the facility
Qualifications:Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 4 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in facility maintenance or related maintenance work
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and general repairs
- Experience operating commercial or facility vehicles
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare, residential, or institutional settings
- Experience operating box trucks or commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of fire alarm and building safety systems
- Additional certifications related to maintenance, safety, or vehicle operation
- Experience with inventory management or warehouse operations
Schedule and availability
- Shifts will primarily be Monday to Friday
- Some evening and weekend shifts may be required based on operational needs
- Flexibility and availability for emergency or urgent maintenance situations may be required

Working conditions
- Work involves both indoor and outdoor responsibilities
- May require lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- On-call or emergency response availability may occasionally be required
