About the Role
Finikia Developments is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a 54-unit, 8-storey concrete residential building in downtown Halifax. This is a 30-month project requiring a hands-on construction professional who will be present on-site daily, ensuring smooth coordination of trades, safety compliance, and overall site execution.
The Site Supervisor will report directly to the Project Manager and play a key role in maintaining schedule, quality, and site efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily on-site supervision of all construction activities
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors to ensure efficient sequencing of work
- Support project scheduling in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Monitor construction progress and ensure alignment with project timeline and milestones
- Enforce site safety standards and ensure compliance with OH&S regulations
- Assist in implementing and maintaining site safety programs and procedures
- Coordinate and support municipal inspections and required site inspections
- Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues quickly and effectively
- Ensure quality control standards are met across all phases of construction
- Maintain clear communication between subcontractors, suppliers, and project management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or Construction Superintendent on multi-residential or concrete mid-rise projects
- Experience working on active construction sites in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM)
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, particularly concrete structure, envelope, and interior build-out
- Working knowledge of construction safety practices and OH&S regulations
- Ability to coordinate multiple trades in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills on-site
- Must be able to work full-time on-site for the duration of the project
Nice to Have
- Experience with midrise residential developments
- Familiarity with municipal inspection processes in Halifax
- Strong working relationships with local subcontractors
