Role Description The Freelance Video Editor role at Elemental Imagery is a part time position based in Kanata, ON. Hours depend on the amount of projects that Elemental Imagery has active and coming up. The Video Editor will edit and assemble footage into polished video content, including project showcases, site progress reels, and on-site interviews. Tasks include organizing raw media, selecting and trimming clips, applying transitions, synchronizing audio, and performing colour correction and grading to achieve a cinematic look. The role also involves creating basic motion graphics and titles, integrating client branding, and preparing final deliverables in formats optimized for web, social media, and presentations. The Video Editor will collaborate with the production team and clients, interpret creative briefs, meet project timelines, and maintain consistent visual quality across all media.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in video editing, including working with multi-camera setups and varied shooting environments.
- Candidates should possess skills in video colour grading and basic graphics to ensure visual consistency and a refined, cinematic look.
- Candidates should possess skills in motion graphics and titles to enhance storytelling and support client branding.
- Candidates should have proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects) and foundational audio editing skills.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong visual storytelling abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
