Position: Restaurant Manager
Wage: CAD$39.00 per hour
Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays)
Working hours: 30- 40 hours per week
Benefits: 4% vacation pay
Job Duties:
• Manage, plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations and consistent service;
• Develop the restaurant’s food and service offerings, establish service standards, and implement effective operational procedures for daily restaurant activities;
• Monitor restaurant sales and revenues, analyze and control operating budgets and costs, determine appropriate food and service prices, and manage receipts, invoices, bill payments, and related expenses;
• Review and maintain inventory levels of food ingredients, beverages, and other supplies, monitor food usage and leftovers, determine purchasing needs, and negotiate with suppliers for food and other supplies;
• Plan, coordinate, and adjust employee work schedules according to business needs, monitor employee attendance and performance, and supervise staff to maintain proper service standards;
• Recruit employees by reviewing resumes and conducting interviews, oversee staff training, and provide guidance and instruction to employees to support effective job performance;
• Conduct employee performance reviews and hold staff meetings to discuss operational issues, employee concerns, customer service, and areas for improvement;
• Handle customers’ complaints and concerns and resolve service issues to ensure customer satisfaction, while providing appropriate customer service when required;
• Handle emergency situations and ensure that restaurant operations comply with applicable health, safety, sanitation, and provincial regulations, including liquor regulations where applicable;
• Monitor food preparation and service processes to ensure food and customer orders are prepared and served accurately and on time.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience is required.
• Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is an asset.
