Reporting to the Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure, the incumbent will:
- Supervise technical asset management staff and lead the planning and coordination of inspection and condition assessment programs across the Region's water supply and sanitary sewerage infrastructure.
- Optimize the Region's investments in capital assets through engineering analysis, asset management best practices, and developing maintenance management programs to enhance reliability and extend asset life.
- Support the management of asset management programs for all Regional water supply and sanitary sewerage infrastructure, providing support to other divisions to ensure asset integrity and performance
- Assist in the preparation of business plans, technical memorandums and asset strategies to support infrastructure planning and project delivery
- Coordinate with internal and external agencies to support the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) approval process for water supply and sewerage projects
- Liaise with internal departments, consultants, and external agencies to support permit applications, data sharing and regulatory compliance
- Oversee the development and maintenance of asset data to ensure the accuracy and consistency for risk evaluation, lifecycle analysis and capital planning
- Monitor infrastructure risks and lead the prioritization of projects based on asset condition, performance trends, and long-term financial impacts
The successful applicant will possess:
- A post secondary diploma (3 years) in Engineering Technology or a related program or an
equivalent combination of education and experience- Many years of experience in asset management of Water Supply and Sanitary Sewage Infrastructure
- Knowledge of asset management best practices for water supply and sanitary sewerage infrastructure
- Knowledge and understanding of the MECP Design Guidelines, Environmental Compliance processes, applicable legislation and Regional standards related to water and wastewater infrastructure
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Knowledge of CMMS Software and ESRI products
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, report writing and presentation skills, analytical and organizational skills
- Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills to guide staff
- Consistent modeling of integrity, transparency, and inclusive practices.
- Membership with O.A.C.E.T.T. and/or PEMAC (Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada) is considered and asset
- A valid Ontario Driver's License and the daily use of a reliable vehicle
