BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Residential Construction

Compensation Range: $120k-$150k structured as a $60k base plus commission (paid monthly) Full-Time Southwestern Ontario Reports to: President

About the role

We are on a path to become one of Southwestern Ontario’s most recognized names in custom residential construction. We build custom homes, large-scale renovations, and structural additions for clients who expect precision, craftsmanship, and a trusted process. We are scaling fast and building the team to match.

We are hiring a Business Development Manager to own new business generation end to end. Your job is to find the right clients, homeowners making six-figure decisions on custom builds and major renovations, and bring them in. You will run the full cycle from first conversation to signed contract. This is not a support role, a networking role, or a brand ambassador role. You are here to close business.

You will report directly to the President and work closely with the project managers to ensure a clean handoff from sale to delivery.

What you will own

Lead Generation and Pipeline

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through referrals, networking, outreach, and online channels
Tier and qualify inbound leads by project type, budget, and fit
Own all follow-up activity at every stage of the pipeline until a decision is made. No lead goes cold on your watch
Manage and update all pipeline activity accurately and consistently in HubSpot CRM

Client Development

Conduct in-person consultations with prospective clients to understand their project needs
Present the businesses services, process, and portfolio in a way that builds trust and closes deals
Build referral relationships with architects, realtors, brokers, and other trade partners who are already talking to the right clients

Reporting

Report weekly to the President on leads generated, meetings held, and contracts signed
Maintain accurate CRM records so the business always has a clear picture of pipeline health

Who you are

Proven track record in business development or sales, you have closed real deals
Deep familiarity with residential construction, custom builds, renovations, what the process looks like, and what clients care about at each stage.
Comfortable speaking with homeowners making large, emotionally significant financial decisions. You know how to build trust
Self-directed and field-ready. You do not wait for leads to come to you and you do not need close supervision to stay active
Familiar with CRM tools; HubSpot experience is a strong asset
Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Based in or deeply familiar with Southern Ontario. Norfolk, Brant, Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara regions

Success in the first 90 days

An active, qualified pipeline is built and being worked consistently
At least 4 contracts signed from your own outreach
HubSpot is being used accurately and updated in real time
A referral network has been identified and initial relationships established
The President has full visibility into pipeline activity without having to ask for it

Growth path

Performance reviews at 90 days, 6 months, and annually. As the business scales, this role has a clear path toward a Head of Sales position with team responsibility and expanded scope.
