Building Energy Modeler (eQUEST Specialist) – Mid to Senior Level

Location: On-site role in Quebec

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Opportunity:

We are partnering with a multidisciplinary consulting firm that supports real estate, engineering, and building performance initiatives across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Due to continued growth, the team is looking to hire both a mid-level and senior Building Energy Modeler with strong expertise in eQUEST to support energy modeling, performance analysis, and reporting across commercial and multi-residential projects.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and analyze building energy models using eQUEST
Perform baseline vs. proposed simulations for commercial and multi-residential projects
Prepare technical reports and supporting documentation
Support projects tied to energy efficiency and financing programs (e.g., CMHC MLI Select)
Review drawings and technical documentation to inform modeling inputs
Collaborate with internal teams on project delivery
Ensure accuracy, formatting, and quality of reports in both English and French

Qualifications:

2–5+ years (mid-level) or 5+ years (senior) experience in energy modeling
Strong hands-on experience with eQUEST (required)
Experience with commercial, institutional, or multi-residential buildings
Understanding of ASHRAE 90.1 and energy modeling fundamentals
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
Comfortable working on-site in Quebec

Assets:

Experience with CMHC MLI Select, LEED, or similar programs
Background in Mechanical/Building Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Consulting experience or client-facing project work
