Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer / Project Manager to join their multidisciplinary engineering team.

The team delivers complex environmental and infrastructure projects across areas such as:

Wastewater systems
Stormwater management
Solid waste and landfill engineering
Contaminated sites and remediation technologies
Environmental infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

Lead and/or support remedial option evaluations, treatment system upgrades, stormwater infrastructure, landfill closure techniques, and construction oversight
Contribute to the design of remediation systems, including in-situ treatment, barrier walls, landfill covers, and treatment plant upgrades
Conduct site visits to assess conditions, oversee contractors, and perform field engineering reviews
Prepare and review:
- Technical reports
- Monitoring reports and audit findings
- Design briefs and specifications
- Tender documents and contracts
Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and staffing
Develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions
Prepare work plans and support project design for operational and capital upgrades
Administer and manage contracts
Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders
Act as a project lead, promoting teamwork and efficiency
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
Conduct peer reviews and provide technical guidance
Support preparation and approval of engineering drawings and specifications

Qualifications & Requirements

5–8 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a related industry
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
P. Eng. designation in British Columbia (required)
Strong understanding of environmental engineering principles, regulations, and guidelines
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail
Excellent communication and technical writing skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff is an asset
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)
Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
