Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Project Engineer / Project Manager to join their multidisciplinary engineering team.
The team delivers complex environmental and infrastructure projects across areas such as:
- Wastewater systems
- Stormwater management
- Solid waste and landfill engineering
- Contaminated sites and remediation technologies
- Environmental infrastructure

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and/or support remedial option evaluations, treatment system upgrades, stormwater infrastructure, landfill closure techniques, and construction oversight
- Contribute to the design of remediation systems, including in-situ treatment, barrier walls, landfill covers, and treatment plant upgrades
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions, oversee contractors, and perform field engineering reviews
- Prepare and review:
- Technical reports
- Monitoring reports and audit findings
- Design briefs and specifications
- Tender documents and contracts
- Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and staffing
- Develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Prepare work plans and support project design for operational and capital upgrades
- Administer and manage contracts
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders
- Act as a project lead, promoting teamwork and efficiency
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
- Conduct peer reviews and provide technical guidance
- Support preparation and approval of engineering drawings and specifications
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
- P. Eng. designation in British Columbia (required)
- Strong understanding of environmental engineering principles, regulations, and guidelines
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
