Job Description
The Communications Coordinator will work collaboratively within the Communications team and with internal customers to support the group of J.D. Irving group companies based in Dieppe, NB.
The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the business-to-business communications through internal and external communications planning, message development, issues and initiative management, and the development of key presentations, written materials and editorial content for internal and external customers. It is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that concurrently manages multiple files and pressing deadlines with complex content.
Responsibilities
- Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations suitable for a variety of audiences (sales, government and internal).
- Write and edit content for internal and external audiences (email communications, correspondence, newsletters, social media posts, media releases and website stories)
- Work collaboratively with graphic designers to assist in the development of materials for publication.
- Production of first class written products such as newsletters, brochures, news releases, speaking notes with tight deadlines.
- Provide logistics support for major projects and events.
- Identify, research, assess and create editorial content for internal use across the organization, reflecting the company’s achievements and functions.
- Work in direct support of senior practitioners in business-to-business / sales support and in social media / internal communications.
- Work collaboratively with sales leaders to develop materials that will showcase our unique value proposition.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline of public relations, communications or experience (2+ years) combined with a community college diploma in a related discipline of communications or marketing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook) with exceptional PowerPoint skills.
- Must have superior time-management skills with well-developed project management skills, the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time while meeting deadlines effectively, efficiently, and independently.
- Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing requirements and to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across a wide range of teams.
- Demonstrated adaptability and professional maturity.
- Willingness to roll-up sleeves and get the work done.
- Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take the initiative.
- Natural inter-personal skills and the ability to manage senior stakeholders’ expectations.
- Excellent team player who is committed, optimistic, enthusiastic, and creative.
- The position requires superior writing and editing skills.
