Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Volunteer Operations, the Volunteer Operations Manager will play a key role in mobilizing one team of thousands of volunteers across North America and the 16 Host Cities. The Volunteer Operations Manager will help catalyze the planning and delivery of the Volunteer Program notably the vital attraction, recruitment, training and Tournament time efforts. The successful candidate will support the coordination and management of program deliverables with key stakeholders including internal Functional Areas, and FIFA World Cup 2026™ Host Cities.
THE POSITION
Key responsibilities of the role include the management of integral projects, from inception to execution. The forming of detailed operational plans to support program milestones, and ensuring a consistent high level volunteer experience across North America. We are looking for an experienced volunteer operations manager who understands the challenges and opportunities of such a unique global event and has firsthand experience of applicable delivery within North America.
- Successfully plan and support Volunteer Program operations alongside the delivery of a number of integrated projects.
- These projects will vary over the life of FWC26 but will cover critical areas of the volunteer journey including: attraction, recruitment, and Tournament operations.
- Contribute to headcount planning efforts to understand detailed volunteer requirements. · Support on the ground planning and delivery in Host Cities of the Volunteer Recruitment Centre operations, as part of ambitions to drive one united Volunteer Program across North America.
- Develop centralized plans and processes which provide the necessary framework to instill efficient practices and consistent experience.
- Effective relationship management across the Volunteer eco-system.
- Work across the broader FWC26 team, including Volunteer and Workforce colleagues in Workforce Planning, Volunteer Training, Uniforms to ensure effective integrated working.
- Participation in venue operation planning and assisting in the central coordination of volunteer data capture and management.
- Development of applicable volunteer policies and procedures
YOUR PROFILE
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or similar level of higher education) preferred but not required
Work Experience
- Proven experience in leading / managing Volunteer programs including fit for purpose attraction, recruitment and engagement tactics.
- Knowledge of effective volunteer management best practices.
- Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods ·
- Skilled in MS Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to develop beneficial working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven multi-tasker and ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience of working in a complex environment, with the necessary skills to adapt to change and competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills
- Creative, with aptitude to adapt and remain solution orientated.
Languages
- Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
Technology
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project), and skilled in program management software. ·
- Experience of working with Volunteer Management system a plus ·
- Experience working with Rosterfy is a plus.
