Job Summary:
The Director of Procurement will be responsible for leading a best-in-class purchasing organization. They will be responsible for vendor negotiations, purchasing, cost savings, and maintaining OEM relationships. The role is an integral part of the Shared Services Team and will provide support to the entire organization. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of procurement policies, providing expert advice on all purchasing as well as negotiating large purchases and service agreements. As a leader of this functional area, you will introduce us to best-in-class methodologies and technologies to improve our performance.
The ideal candidate is a great collaborator, a highly skilled negotiator, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. The person in this position will be the subject matter expert of the procurement function and a key contributor to the refinement of the deployed enterprise resource platform. This role will manage the nationwide team of buyers and inventory specialists that procure and maintain the goods and services needed to support day-to-day operations. In addition, this role will be responsible for creating the objectives and priorities for the department in alignment with the Company’s goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Procurement Team and improve the Procurement team’s knowledge and proficiency of procurement critical skills
- Create, implement, and maintain company policies regarding purchasing
- Review and optimize spending practices across all categories of spend, to produce the greatest value for every dollar spent
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements, discounts, and rebates with current and new suppliers to increase value while maintaining quality and performance
- Research and source from alternative suppliers that will deliver the same quality and performance at lower costs
- Optimize on-hand inventory to hold the critical items needed to support operations based on demand, lead time, and cost
- Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities as assigned within larger business initiatives
Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years’ experience as a Procurement Manager
- Knowledge of Microsoft D365 for Finance and Operations preferred
