Based on-site in Halifax, NS, the Supply Chain and Planning Coordinator will coordinate end-to-end planning for Sperri’s health-product supply chain, demand and materials planning, raw-material procurement and supplier management, and production scheduling with our contract manufacturer to drive service reliability, cost discipline, and full traceability as we scale. You need to be a builder to develop a compliant, scalable and efficient internal supply chain system.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop and maintain a master production schedule and time-phased materials plan based on forecast data and share a clear weekly demand/supply outlook highlighting risks, constraints, and mitigation plans.
- Plan, source and procure ingredients and packaging; MOQs, and lead times with approved suppliers; ensure inbound materials meet spec with a valid certificate of analysis.
- Build SOP’s and processes to meet streamline efficiencies in compliance with QA standards.
- Maintain supplier performance scorecards and drive corrective actions;
- Own raw-material inventory accuracy and lot traceability to meet internal QA standards and complete documentation
- set safety-stock and Reorder Points (ROP);
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain orders, inventory transactions, and fulfillment data within the ERP system (NetSuite), ensuring records are current and aligned with operational workflows.
- Coordinate with the contract manufacturer on build schedules, materials readiness, and change control (formula, label, pack); ensure production documentation supports end-to-end traceability; enter production in NetSuite.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering or equivalent
- 3–5 years in supply chain/planning within food, beverage, nutraceutical, or natural-health products.
- Hands-on experience with contract manufacturers; strong supplier negotiation and performance management.
- Experience with demand planning and forecasting, aligning production schedules with purchasing strategies.
- Understanding of shipping documentation and any affiliated regulations for ingredients or raw materials, primarily sourced in North America.
- Preferred knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles that apply to procurement or supply chain processes.
- Systems fluency: ERP/MRP and WMS; advanced Excel; comfort with lot control, COAs, FIFO/FEFO, and shelf-life practices.
- Planning discipline & follow-through: Maintains reliable process flow and accurate documentation.
- Decision quality under time pressure: Uses data to make timely calls and escalate with clear rationale during supply/production changes.
