Position: Veterinary technician - RVT.

Bronson Veterinary Clinic a new general practice and privately owned, located in Centretown, Ottawa, ON, is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our growing team.

Position Overview :
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our veterinarians in the delivery of high-quality medical care for our patients.
Responsibilities include:

Demonstrate professional, empathetic communication with clients and colleagues, ensuring clarity and respect in both verbal and written interactions.

Triage of patients and ability to recognize emergencies.
-
Assist in collecting samples for analysis, IV catheterization, administering medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians
-
Conduct laboratory in-house and outside laboratory diagnostics such as hematology, chemistry panels, cytology, parasites testing and urinalysis while following proper technical procedures and equipment protocols.

Provide surgical and medical support to the veterinarian, maintaining sterile technique and ensuring all treatment areas meet established standards for asepsis and patient safety.

Assist in Restraining, handling and lifting different small animal species of different temperament, size and weight.

Administer and oversee anesthesia and pain-management protocols in accordance with RVT practice standards and provincial regulatory requirements.

Deliver high-quality veterinary nursing care by applying clinical knowledge, best practices, and ethical principles, including low-stress methods.

Ensure medical, anesthesia and surgical records and controlled drugs logs are complete, accurate, and compliant with professional documentation standards.

Operate, clean, and calibrate veterinary diagnostic and treatment equipment while adhering to all safety guidelines and manufacturer recommendations.

Capture and interpret diagnostic and intraoral radiographs using proper positioning, imaging techniques, and quality-control procedures.

Perform veterinary dental tasks within professional scope, applying strong understanding of oral anatomy, pathology, and dental disease processes.

Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Monitor and maintain medical-supply inventory according to hospital inventory-control systems.

Dispense and explain prescribed medications and veterinary prescription diets.

Foster a cooperative and supportive team environment, assisting coworkers whenever needed to ensure smooth
clinic operations.

Qualifications :

Completion of a college diploma in Veterinary Technology
