Position: Veterinary Assistant
Bronson Veterinary Clinic a new general practice and privately owned, located in Centretown, Ottawa, ON, is seeking Veterinary Assistants and Receptionists to join our growing team.
We welcome both experienced and New Graduates mentorship and training support are available, pre-vet students and students interested in applying for veterinary college and universities are welcome to apply.

Position Overview :
As a Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists, you will play a key role in supporting our staff in the delivery of high-quality clients services and medical care for our patients.
Responsibilities include:

Demonstrate professional, empathetic communication with clients and colleagues, ensuring clarity and respect in both verbal and written interactions.

Administrative duites including but not limited to, answering: phone, emails and texts in a professional manner.

Booking appointments.

General organization, restocking and cleanings duties in the clinic.
-
Checking in and out clients, collecting payments, maintaining accurate medical records.
-
Opening and securely closing the clinic with and without supervision
-
Provide surgical, medical and diagnostics assistance to veterinary technicians and other staff members as directed.

Assist in Restraining, handling and lifting different small animal species of different temperament, size and weight.

Deliver high-quality veterinary nursing care.

Operate, clean, and calibrate veterinary diagnostic and treatment equipment while adhering to all safety guidelines and manufacturer recommendations.

Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Monitor and maintain medical and supply inventory according to hospital inventory-control systems.

Foster a cooperative and supportive team environment, assisting coworkers whenever needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Assist in house call services as needed.

Qualifications :

Completion of a Veterinary assistant program or a relevant work experience

Proficiency with computer systems, phone system and veterinary practice management software

Must be comfortable around Animals of different species, temperament, size and weights.

Ability to work around all species of animals safely

Ability to provide a services in a safe manner, including but not limited to, lift and transfers of large animals and interaction with potentially aggressive animals

Compassionate in interaction with grieving and stressed clients
