SAIPEM CANADA INC ., a Saipem company, continues to evolve its CO2 capture technology, CO2 Solutions by Saipem . The company is looking for a laboratory technician to support its technological evolution within its R&D team.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensure that all activities within his/her area of responsibility are carried out in full compliance with HSE requirements.
- Identify and control hazards to prevent damage to equipment, personnel, and the environment.
- Perform sample analysis following the methods in the analysis plan
- Provide support to operational staff, as required
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions
- Document lab work in lab notebooks
- Running experiments according to experimental designs
- Ensure that all equipment used for analysis is properly calibrated
- Participate in the development and assembly of small laboratory systems
- Prepares follow-up documents and reports as required and maintains laboratory equipment inventories at required levels.
- Handle and store chemicals safely
- Know WHMIS/GHS regulations
- Advise and assist in the provision of information, interpretation of data and evaluation of hazardous substances
- Maintain good maintenance in work areas
- Be aware of emergency response roles and responsibilities
Requirements:
- College diploma in laboratory techniques: biotechnology or laboratory techniques in analytical chemistry
- Excellent command of French, both verbally and in writing
- Intermediate English level spoken and written
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Dynamic, the candidate must have a taste for learning.
- Autonomous, rigorous, versatile and have the skills for teamwork.
- On-the-job experience: minimum 2 years
