Position Scope:
Reporting to the Legal Personnel and Alumni Relations Committee, this is an exceptional, newly created opportunity for an experienced professional services leader, responsible for the development and execution of an effective strategy for Alumni Relations across the Firm.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
Strategic Program Leadership:
- Partner with Firm leadership, the Alumni Relations Committee, and cross-functional teams—including Client Relations, Marketing, Legal Personnel, and Human Resources—to design and implement a high-impact Alumni Program that fosters enduring connections and mutual value.
Retired Partner Engagement:
- Champion initiatives that strengthen ties with Retired Partners, ensuring their continued involvement and recognition within the Firm’s broader alumni ecosystem.
Relationship Building & Advocacy:
- Actively cultivate relationships with alumni and inspire others across the Firm to do the same, with the goal of building long-term goodwill and professional collaboration.
Communications & Connection Strategy:
- Oversee the creation and execution of a multi-channel communication strategy that keeps alumni informed, engaged, and connected to the Firm’s culture, people, and opportunities.
Data Management & Analytics:
- Maintain and continuously improve alumni data systems. Provide actionable insights through regular analytics and reporting to inform program evolution and stakeholder engagement.
Internal Awareness & Integration:
- Drive internal awareness of alumni programming among lawyers and staff. Promote the strategic value of alumni relationships and embed alumni engagement into the Firm’s culture.
Onboarding to Alumni Network:
- Collaborate with Legal Personnel teams to develop a proactive transition strategy that introduces departing legal professionals to the alumni program before their exit, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
Alumni Resources & Support:
- Develop and manage resources that support alumni career growth and engagement, including job placement assistance, professional development opportunities, and a robust social media presence.
Event Strategy & Execution:
- Work closely with Events and Business Development teams to conceptualize, plan, and deliver impactful alumni events that reinforce community, celebrate achievements, and drive strategic outcomes.
Personal & Leadership Attributes:
- Demonstrates outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across a diverse range of stakeholders—internally and externally. Adept at tailoring messaging for different audiences, facilitating productive dialogue, and representing the Firm’s values in all interactions.
- Brings a forward-thinking, strategic mindset to the role, consistently identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement. Excels at analyzing complex challenges, developing actionable solutions, and driving initiatives that align with the Firm’s long-term objectives.

- Proven ability to work seamlessly across multiple departments—including Legal Personnel, Marketing, Client Relations, Human Resources, and Business Development—to achieve shared goals. Skilled at fostering teamwork, leveraging diverse perspectives, and integrating alumni engagement into the Firm’s broader strategy.
- Manages multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Utilizes data-driven insights and analytics to inform decision-making, measure success, and continuously improve program outcomes.
- Acts as a champion for alumni relations within the Firm, inspiring others to recognize the strategic value of alumni engagement. Effectively advocates for resources, support, and cultural integration of alumni programming.
Education & Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree is an asset
- Professional services experience required
- Experience in alumni relations, people management, coaching and/or professional development
