Petroplan is currently hiring a Surface A&D Analyst on behalf of our client. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with a leader in the industry as they are growing their staff to accommodate expanding demands. With substantial midstream and downstream infrastructure, our client is the second-largest refiner and upgrader in Canada as well as the third-largest producer of natural gas and oil.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Surface A&D Analyst to join the Land A&D team on a one-year contract. We are looking for an independent, results driven and detail oriented individual.
Responsibilities
- Support Surface land A&D activities across the company including reviewing and validating both land and well schedules, preparing conveyance documents for closing, including asset license transfers, lease conveyances and land title transfers, as well as updating applicable land systems as required
- Identify potential risks with Surface A&D activities and communicate effectively to internal stakeholders
- Identify discrepancies and post close deficiencies, and remedy as applicable
- Support continuous process improvement and development
- Support a variety of projects within Land, as requested
- Complete chain of title and solve complex A&D problems
Deliverables
- Ensure compliance with process and regulatory requirements
- Report, track and monitor surface A&D activity
- Support process development and improvement
- Complete projects with minimal post close work
- Communicate in a timely manner to various stakeholders
- Create and maintain effective relationships with functional teams across the organization
Competencies
- Knowledge of Western Canada surface regulations and requirements, BC, Alberta and Sask
- Understanding of A&D requirements for Freehold, Crown, and Fee title
- Data analysis, interpretation, and decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to complete and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Detailed oriented
Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Minimum of 10 years of surface land experience, with a focus in A&D activity
- Petroleum Land Administration certificate, or equivalent experience
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with CS Land, OneStop, ETS, ISC, Land Titles, Abadata and mapping programs
- Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Requires a solid understanding of regulations for Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC and other regulatory bodies
