Business Systems Analyst, Payments
Our client, a Big Five Bank is seeking an experienced BSA with strong payments and QA experience to join on a 12-month contract. This role will support upcoming payment-related initiatives.
Location : Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)
Contract Length : 12 months (potential for conversion)
Start Date : ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a specialist bridging BA and QA functions within BMO’s SDP payments platform.
- Oversee high-level testing activities, managing 1,000+ test cases (manual and automated) and coordinating deployment efforts.
- Elicit and document business requirements, analyze payment flows and identify variations.
- Collaborate with operations, business, and support teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency across workflows.
Project Scope:
- Portfolio enhancements
- Annual compliance releases
- API release requiring cross-team collaboration
- Methodology: Waterfall, with full commitment to project phases
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years combined experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) and QA professional
- Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards, including wire structures and XML formats
- Solid technical background to bridge business requirements with system capabilities
- Excellent communication skills; confident, inquisitive, and collaborative
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of market infrastructures, particularly liquidity management and payment flows
