Key Responsibilities
Foundational Research & Analysis
- Translate client criteria into structured research frameworks (e.g., acquisition criteria, buyer profiles, market segments).
- Develop and execute primary and secondary research plans using a combination of internal tools, databases, AI-assisted workflows, and manual data gathering.
- Build, curate, validate, and prioritize lists of counterparties across buy-side and sell-side engagements.
- Conduct high-quality quality control—ensuring enriched data from offshore teams or vendors meets accuracy and formatting standards.
- Manage ongoing intelligence about counterparties, sectors, and market dynamics within internal databases.
Workflow & Offshore Team Management
- Coordinate day-to-day tasks with our offshore research team; define workloads, monitor progress, and perform QC checks.
- Establish and refine standard operating procedures for research execution, enrichment, and validation.
- Provide training, feedback, and process corrections to offshore team members as needed.
Technology, Tools & AI Integration
- Use AI-based tools to accelerate research, automate data cleaning, and improve list-building workflows.
- Identify opportunities to implement or enhance technology-driven research processes (AI agents, APIs, database integrations).
- Support leadership in managing tools, subscriptions, data providers, and other research infrastructure.
Collaboration & Communication
- Present findings and insights clearly to internal deal teams and, when required, clients.
- Prepare counterparties for outreach by packaging research into usable, structured formats.
- Contribute to internal reporting on research performance, throughput, and accuracy metrics.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend and implement improvements to research systems, data quality standards, and process scalability.
- Uphold and promote a culture of precision, curiosity, and excellence within the research team.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Education
- 1+ years of experience in research, analytics, or database-driven work within corporate development, private equity, consulting, investment banking, M&A, or a similar environment.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field; strong academic performance preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong analytical mindset and exceptional curiosity.
- Highly systematic, able to break down complex research assignments into structured steps.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data.
- Comfort with technology: databases, Excel/Sheets, CRMs, AI research tools, APIs, and structured data manipulation.
- Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple mandates and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
