About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Electrical Engineering Division as a Contract Administrator . Reporting to our senior electrical leadership, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of large-scale projects across the commercial, institutional, and healthcare sectors. You will be directly involved in site inspections, construction meetings, contract documentation, progress reviews, and field coordination. This position offers the opportunity to apply your electrical expertise in a consulting environment, balancing technical fieldwork with contract administration and client communication.
This role is ideal for an individual with a strong electrical foundation licensed or equivalent, who enjoys both hands-on site engagement and the administrative side of project delivery. As part of your professional growth, you will gain exposure to high-profile projects, work closely with senior leaders, and contribute to mentoring and guiding project teams within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and attend site construction meetings and monitor progress of electrical installations
- Conduct field inspections and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Review electrical progress payments, change notices, and quotations
- Assist in responding to RFIs and provide clarifications to contractors as needed
- Witness and document factory and field equipment testing
- Review as-built drawings, shop drawings, and O&M manuals and close out documentation
- Perform due diligence and/or condition assessments of existing facilities
- Collaborate closely with design teams, contractors, and client representatives
- Prepare and maintain organized project records and communication logs
Qualifications
- Licensed 309A Journeyperson Electrician (Commercial) or equivalent practical experience (minimum 6 years preferred)
- Strong foundation in electrical systems, construction methods, and the Ontario Electrical and Building Code
- Familiarity with construction contract formats (e.g., CCDC) and project management tools.
- Excellent command of the English language with professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and related software
- Strong analytical ability to interpret and evaluate electrical drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated confidence in boardroom discussions and client interactions
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (70–80% site travel)
