As the senior tech leader, the role will report to the Chief Technology Officer and own translating the business strategy into a multi-year end-to-end tech and product vision and roadmap. More specifically, the role will own all product strategy and software platforms end-to-end—commerce (Next.js/headless) data warehouse, loyalty, personalization, ERP integrations, stores—to deliver business outcomes (conversion, revenue, margin, store throughput) through a unified roadmap and execution engine, with a bias for elegant solutions, A/B-driven learning, and legacy decommissioning.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor, and develop Product Management, Engineer and IT departments
- Own translation of the business strategy into the multi-year end-to-end tech and product vision and roadmap
- Translate and align product & business partnership — Translate roadmaps to executable plans based on organizational capacity with explicit trade-offs and ROI.
- Define product strategy & portfolio —Set an outcome-based roadmap for growth, profitability, and CX across digital and store-integrated journeys.
- Drive product discovery & experimentation — lead hypothesis-driven discovery; A/B and phased rollouts with guardrails.
- Own engineering & delivery — Ensure single-threaded ownership of delivery across web/services SW/QA/SRE/App Support.
- Advance the next.js headless web platform — SSR/SSG/ISR, BFF/API gateway, edge/CDN, caching.
- Drive data & integrations — Govern event-driven contracts, CDC, canonical events, schema versioning.
- Lead legacy transition program - Strangler patterns, data migration, parallel runs, cutovers.
- Safeguard compliance & security — PCI-DSS, GDPR/CPRA, store-cloud segmentation, incident drills
- Ensure store/distribution center/corporate infrastructure availability, security, and performance.
- Articulate stakeholder communication — Translate tech/product plans to business value.
- Govern FP&A / tech & product spend — Manage budget, approvals, unit economics; avoid delivery bottlenecks.
- Champion and support AI-Assisted Ops — apply and scale AI to drive measurable gains (triage, devx, support).
Qualifications:
- 12+ years across product management and software engineering leadership; 5+ years leading multi-team orgs.
- Retail and e-commerce product at scale; growth & funnel optimization; pricing/promo; search/browse/cart/checkout and store technology.
- Production Next.js (SSR/SSG/ISR, edge) and API-first/headless commerce.
- Experimentation platforms (e.g., Statsig/Optimizely/LaunchDarkly) and causal inference basics.
- Legacy decommission (strangler, data migration, parallel run, cutover).
- DevOps/SRE, SLOs/error budgets, tracing, synthetic monitoring, CWV.
- Security & compliance (PCI-DSS incl. GDPR/CPRA); network segmentation.
- Champion of applying and scaling AI to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Excellent stakeholder communication; outcome-based road mapping; org design and talent development.
