Role Overview:
The Senior Network/System Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and ongoing optimization of the client’s network and security infrastructure, including Azure cloud and Microsoft 365 environments. This role ensures high-performance, secure, and compliant infrastructure operations while supporting enterprise initiatives and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs). The analyst serves as a subject matter expert in Azure and M365 services, providing advanced technical support, leading medium-sized infrastructure and security projects, and enabling business stakeholders to achieve their objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Systems Operations & Management
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure resources including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Application Gateways, Load Balancers, Azure Firewall, and third-party Azure add-ons.
- Implement and maintain best practices for identity and access management, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Automate infrastructure deployments using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Monitor system capacity, performance, and issues using Azure and other tools to meet SLAs and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Analyze system performance through Azure Log Analytics, Application Insights, and other monitoring tools to optimize operations and prevent unplanned downtime or security incidents.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and enforce industry best practices.
Microsoft 365 & SharePoint System Management
- Manage Dynamics 365, Office 365, Power Platform, Purview, and related services.
- Oversee deployment, configuration, and upgrades of the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Monitor compliance with policies, standards, and best practices for M365 systems.
- Provide system-level technical support and collaborate with IT teams to meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain configuration, security, and operational documentation.
Enterprise Security & Regulatory Compliance
- Implement and maintain security best practices across all infrastructure and cloud services.
- Ensure systems and appliances are patched, monitored, and up-to-date.
- Use Microsoft Intune, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and Azure Policy to enforce security standards.
- Maintain compliance with ITS security requirements, Payment Card Industry standards, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor and remediate vulnerabilities across the client’s network and infrastructure.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for Azure and M365 services.
- Regularly test and update business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Collaboration & Support
- Serve as escalation point for complex Azure and M365 incidents.
- Work with application, support, security, and networking teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions.
- Provide mentorship and technical training to IT staff on Azure technologies.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and detailed system diagrams.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate and recommend new network and infrastructure solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead proof-of-concept projects and prepare business cases for cloud modernization initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- 6+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 3 years specializing in Microsoft Azure.
- Microsoft Azure certifications: AZ-700 and AZ-104 (required); AZ-305 (preferred).
- Proven experience leading enterprise Azure deployments and cloud projects.
- Deep knowledge of Azure services: Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, and Monitoring.
- Expertise in Azure Active Directory, Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, Azure Security Center, Sentinel, and Defender for Cloud.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform) and automation tools (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Experience managing large-scale Azure environments and enterprise workloads.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
