Career opportunity:
Harbourfront Wealth Management is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist & Talent Acquisition Specialist for a 12–18 month contract, based in Vancouver. This role supports day-to-day HR operations and full-cycle recruitment across the organization. It’s an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with strong administrative and recruiting experience—ideally within financial services—to contribute to a fast-growing national firm.
Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities:
- Respond to general inquiries from employees and managers to ensure HR processes and policies are followed;
- Prepare HR documentation and correspondence as required;
- Enter and maintain accurate data in the HRIS;
- Administer and process new hires, transfers, departures, compensation changes, vacation eligibility, and related actions;
- Maintain and update HRIS records to ensure accuracy and compliance;
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring all required documents are completed;
- Monitor employee eligibility to work in Canada, liaising with external immigration counsel when needed;
- Ensure all employee deadlines and required paperwork are completed and communicated in a timely manner;
- Educate employees and managers on Harbourfront’s HR programs and policies;
- Support HR project implementation and internal training initiatives;
- Assist with developing and updating HR policies and procedures;
- Perform additional ad hoc HR duties as required.
Talent Acquisition Specialist Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs;
- Determine selection criteria for each position;
- Source potential candidates through online channels (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, industry networks);
- Plan and conduct interview and selection processes, including screening calls, assessments, and in-person interviews;
- Maintain, update, and implement recruitment platforms and ATS systems (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.) to ensure best practices in talent acquisition;
- Draft job descriptions and interview guides aligned with each role’s requirements.
The ideal candidate for this position has:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources, with exposure to both HR operations and recruitment;
- Experience in full-cycle recruitment (sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer coordination);
- Experience in the financial services industry is strongly preferred;
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS);
- Strong understanding of HR policies, processes, and employment standards;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills;
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage confidential information;
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 per annum (actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
