The Workday Implementation Consultant is a senior functional expert responsible for leading the full lifecycle deployment of Workday across multiple modules and business entities. This role provides strategic direction, system architecture expertise, configuration leadership, and execution oversight to ensure a successful multi-phase implementation. The consultant partners closely with HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, deployment partners, and external vendors to translate business requirements into a scalable, optimized Workday solution. This position is critical during the implementation period to ensure the organization adopts best practices, avoids common deployment pitfalls, and achieves strong long-term sustainment.

ACTIVITY

Vendor Management, RFP Development & Evaluation
- Support preparation of RFPs, requirements packages, and evaluation frameworks.
- Assess and score vendor capabilities and proposals; make informed recommendations.
- Coordinate with implementation partners, monitoring quality, timelines, and system design alignment.
Lead Full Lifecycle Workday Implementation
- Oversee all phases of deployment including Architect → Configure → Test → Deploy → Sustainment.
- Serve as primary functional lead across modules such as HCM, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, and Advanced Compensation.
- Ensure the solution adheres to Workday best practices, organizational standards, and compliance requirements.
Workday System Design & Configuration
- Translate business requirements into scalable system architecture and configuration.
- Build, configure, and validate core and advanced Workday functionality across assigned modules.
- Develop configuration prototypes, process flows, options analyses, and design documentation.
Multi-Entity Rollout & Expansion Leadership
- Serve as configuration and functional lead for onboarding additional partner companies or subsidiaries.
- Harmonize business processes, security roles, and data standards across entities.
- Ensure integration points and shared services models are aligned to enterprise design.
Knowledge Transfer, Sustainment Planning & Internal Enablement
- Develop long-term maintenance strategies including governance, release management, and support structures.
- Provide mentoring, training, and documentation to HRIS, HR, Payroll, and IT team members.
- Ensure seamless transition from project deployment to internal sustainment teams.
KEY COMPETENCIES

- QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 full end-to-end Workday implementations across multiple modules (mandatory).
- 7–10+ years of experience in Workday consulting, HRIS architecture, or enterprise system implementation.
- Deep expertise in multiple Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, Advanced Compensation).
- Experience leading multi-entity or multi-company Workday rollouts.
- Strong understanding of HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT business processes.
- Proven experience overseeing configuration, testing, integrations, data migration, and deployment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop RFPs, evaluate vendor proposals, and make strategic recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s an asset).
- Workday Procertifications or equivalent advanced Workday training preferred.
