Title: Director, Data & Analytics
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned leader to direct the enterprise Data & Analytics (D&A) program and own the AI roadmap for a large-scale transformation. This leader will validate architecture decisions, ideate new possibilities with data, and guide a multidisciplinary team in building the foundation for our client.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and drive enterprise-wide D&A strategy aligned with digital transformation initiatives.
• Validate and optimize architecture/tooling decisions from a junior migration team to ensure long-term best practices.
• Oversee data ingestion pipelines, medallion architecture, governance, and cataloguing.
• Ensure observability and continuous data quality monitoring across cloud and SaaS integrations.
• Lead and mentor a team of architects, governance/literacy specialists, engineers, and data scientists; identify capability gaps and scale resources as needed.
• Own and advance the AI roadmap, including biometrics, digital twins, predictive maintenance, and IoT sensor applications.
• Partner with business units, airlines, regulators, and vendors to deliver scalable solutions and pilot innovations in an “innovation hub” environment.
• Drive ethical and responsible use of data, AI, and analytics, ensuring governance and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, manage POCs, and develop vendor partnerships.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, IS, or related (Master’s in Analytics/AI or MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive leadership in data/analytics, with proven success leading enterprise-wide strategies and transformations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric, including on-prem to cloud migrations.
• Strong technical fluency in SQL, Python, Hadoop/NoSQL, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience implementing CI/CD, SDLC best practices, and modern data management (Data Mesh, medallion architecture).
• Knowledge of observability tools, data catalogues, and governance frameworks (Unity Catalog or similar).
• Track record of delivering AI/analytics innovation (biometrics, IoT, predictive maintenance, digital twins).
• Product thinking with data: able to ideate on what’s possible, not just execute defined use cases.
• Experience partnering with government/regulatory bodies and managing external vendors.
• Certifications: CAP and ITIL required; CDAO, CDMP, CET preferred.
