The Nuclear Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring all procurement meets CSA N286, N285, and N299 standards and aligns with project schedules within the nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Execution
- Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle for nuclear-class items (RFP ? PO ? receipt ? closeout).
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
- Review BOMs and determine technical and quality procurement requirements.
- Prepare and issue RFPs, tender documents, and bid evaluations.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project schedules and cost objectives.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent experience.
- SCMP designation is an asset.
- Must be eligible to pass a security background check (nuclear sector requirement).
Experience
- Up to 5 years of procurement experience in nuclear, power generation, EPC, industrial, or construction environments.
- Experience with low-risk/low-complexity procurement projects is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of CSA N286, N285, and N299 nuclear standards.
