We also allow agents and brokers to sell insurance to their clients while maximizing their effectiveness and deliver the best value to their customers while making money.
We’re also getting tremendous scale-up on our platform, doubling, tripling, quadrupling traffic on a regular basis. This presents an envious opportunity to help in the scale up… eliminate bottlenecks, remove inefficiencies, help re-architect, and continuously refresh.

The platform will continue to experience explosive growth in functionality, scale, and complexity over the next five years. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be vital in this ambitious expansion.

Role Description
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with with deep experience in algorithms, data structures, programming, testing, etc. You have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and curiosity to know how it works & how the process can be improved. You will understand the domain, commercial insurance, well enough to make the “Tech” part of “Insurtech” work really well. You are able to identify problems and have strong communication skills in discussing these challenges with various stakeholders. You remain patient in working and managing various stakeholder’s expectations.
- Architecture & Software Design, especially SOLID principles and application
- Software Development, full lifecycle
- Push AI-driven engineering to its limits
- A commitment to 100% Automation, build, test, deploy, and more
- Analyze and clarify requirements for both functional and especially technical requirements. Ability to understand & improve our process continuously
- Analyze existing issues and the source of the problems. Collaborate with Developers and Product Specialists to help drive solutions
- Leverage Generative AI tools like Github CoPilot, Cursor, and Zencoder extensively
- Receive and give ongoing direction, coaching, and career guidance
- Lead a team of experienced engineers who built the Foxden platform
Starting as Lead Software Engineer, you want to progress to Engineering Management as we continue to scale. You are comfortable wearing different hats as the situation demands - top coder, project manager, problem solver, communicator, mentor, reviewer, and technical expert.
We want this to be a win-win for you and for Foxquilt. We’ve built an industry leading platform already. But we still have a ways to go in scaling it up, and building out features and enhancements that will inspire customer delight. Above all, how we build software is where you will have the greatest impact. We’re looking to increase our efficiency and effectiveness by an order of magnitude, and you can help us get there, with an AI-first approach.
You need to work from our downtown Toronto location at least two days a week.
