CONTRACT OR PERMANENT
We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer with strong experience in the preliminary sizing phase of Part 23/25 metallic fuselage structures . The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the structural architecture of the aircraft by working closely with the design team in a fast-paced development environment . This role requires deep technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to translate conceptual requirements into robust structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary sizing of metallic fuselage structure components in accordance with Part 23/25 requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the design team to guide structural architecture, joint design, load paths, and material/geometry selections.
- Interpret loads derived from the aircraft GFEM and assess their impact on structural sizing.
- Develop or refine engineering tools, methods, and calculation templates to improve analysis efficiency and consistency.
- Provide design guidelines for a fatigue- and damage-tolerant structure, ensuring alignment with certification requirements and best practices.
- Prepare technical documentation, including calculation reports, design justifications, and compliance evidence.
- Work within an iterative, fast-paced environment requiring proactive communication and rapid adaptation to design evolution.
Qualifications :
- 10+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysis, including preliminary sizing of metallic fuselage or airframe structures.
- Strong knowledge of classical structural design and analysis methods, including familiarity with industry-standard references such as Bruhn, Niu, and Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain.
- Proficiency with CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) CAD environments.
- Understanding of fatigue and damage tolerance concepts and their application in metallic airframe design.
- Experience working with internal and external loads (from GFEM or equivalent).
- Strong analytical skills and engineering judgment, with the ability to balance technical rigor and development speed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Programming skills in Python/VBA are considered an asset.
