Job Requirements
Role Overview:
This position involves continuous design modifications for engine components to optimize performance and reduce manufacturing costs. The engineer will create new designs, update technical documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and update 3D CAD models and drawings using existing designs as a base.
- Perform design evaluations and analysis to ensure modifications meet engineering and manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to understand design constraints and suggest improvements.
- Update technical documentation, including specifications, bills of materials, and revision histories.
- Research and recommend alternative materials or manufacturing methods to reduce cost or improve performance.
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings, actively contributing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
0–3 years of experience working on technical design projects (Master’s degree + internship projects acceptable).
Experience with 3D design tools (Catia V5 preferred, SolidWorks acceptable).
Basic understanding of core engineering principles, including aerodynamics, heat transfer, structural mechanics, and dynamics.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Assets:
- Member of PEO (Engineer in Training) is a strong asset.
- Bilingual English-French is a strong asset.
- Previous aerospace experience is a strong asset; automotive, component manufacturing, or robotics experience also considered.
