About the Role
Our client is seeking a part-time contract Field Reviewer (Senior Architect or Senior Technologist) to oversee projects under construction in Victoria. The role is centered on site reviews, field reporting, and construction-phase support for large-scale multi-family residential and mixed-use concrete developments. This position is 20–30 hours per week, offering flexibility within a consistent weekly schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular site reviews and inspections to confirm compliance with contract documents, codes, and design intent
Prepare detailed field review reports and track construction progress
Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and contractor queries in coordination with the project team
Identify and resolve construction and detailing challenges directly on site
Ensure BCBC compliance and adherence to municipal requirements throughout the construction process
Represent the Vancouver studio locally in Victoria, maintaining the firm's high standards of professionalism and quality
Qualifications
10+ years of architectural or technologist experience in Canada, with extensive involvement during the construction phase
Strong background in multi-family residential, mixed-use, or concrete high-rise projects
Proven technical expertise in building envelope detailing, construction assemblies, and contract administration
Clear and confident communicator with strong site presence and problem-solving ability
Based in Victoria, with the ability to regularly attend local project sites
Registration with the AIBC or ASTTBC is an asset but not required
