Summary of the Role
Reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, with a dotted line to the CTO and co-founder, the Director of Product Management is responsible for overseeing the full product portfolio, which spans complex IoT hardware, embedded software, and AI-driven SaaS platforms. In this key position, you will operationalize the long-term strategic product vision and ensure alignment with the company's ambitious growth, sustainability, and technological innovation goals.
As a dynamic leader, you are capable of both managing people and driving cross-functional outcomes. A critical component of the position is people leadership, which includes managing, mentoring, and developing the existing team of Product Managers and UX designers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment. The team is relatively junior, so there will be a strong focus on mentorship and coaching to implement product management best practices, including utilizing AI tools to enable efficient processes.
As the Director, you must facilitate strong partnerships across the organization, working closely with the engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure resources are aligned and that the execution of product development is seamless and effective from the initial concept phase through to successful market launch.
A core function of this role is to champion the voice of the customer, using ongoing engagement to understand their needs, market trends, and broader business objectives. This insight is essential to ensure that Giatec’s technologies and features address real market pain points and align with customers’ willingness to pay. The Director of Product Management will translate these needs into actionable product initiatives and ensure the company consistently meets customer expectations—a responsibility that will require periodic travel to customer offices and job sites.
With a focus on data-driven decision-making, the Director will ensure that products deliver maximum value by solving practical, real-world problems. Acting as the primary liaison to the executive team and key stakeholders, this individual will communicate product performance, progress, and challenges, and help shape the product’s strategic direction using customer insights.
The first three to six months will centre on internal execution, onboarding, and deep product immersion. After this period, the role will shift toward critical customer-facing activities.

The ideal candidate possesses a rare blend of operational rigor, intellectual curiosity, and openness for learning. You come with a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or another relevant field. More importantly, you bring proven experience leading the creation of complex, high-impact technical solutions in which you have managed the full product life cycle. Specifically, you have overseen products in the IoT - hardware, SaaS, or embedded nano-technology categories, and successfully launched to the market. Furthermore, you have demonstrated the ability to adequately manage and allocate a multi-million dollar budget across multiple departments and projects.
