Welder – Mississauga
Pay Rate: $29–$34/hour
Location: Mississauga, ON
We are hiring a skilled Maintenance Technician / Welder to join our dynamic team in Mississauga. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing production and warehouse equipment to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and execute all production equipment maintenance schedules.
- Perform installation, repairs, and maintain spare parts for equipment.
- Advise supervisors or Operations Manager on repairs beyond standard scope.
- Document and communicate irregularities and maintenance needs.
- Repair packaging and mechanical equipment including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and general building repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, performing emergency or scheduled maintenance as required.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, sketches, and diagrams.
- Diagnose problems, replace parts, test, and adjust equipment as necessary.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance according to schedule.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Perform welding, metal fabrication, and installation duties.
- Lift, push, or move items up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the day.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience in a food warehouse and operating/repairing warehouse equipment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with visual acuity, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Working knowledge of Distribution Center building codes.
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and overtime; on-call required.
- Ability to work from heights.
- Experience in welding (MIG, cutting, brazing) and using basic hand tools.
- Basic electrical knowledge and computer skills; willingness to learn new software.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Certifications:
- Journeyman/Woman Welder Certificate required.
- Red Seal Certificate is an asset but not required.
