Silverstone Care Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate *Registered Dietitian* to join our interdisciplinary care team. Reporting to the *Director of Care*, the Dietitian plays a key role in ensuring residents receive individualized, high-quality nutritional care that supports health, comfort, and overall well-being.
*About the Role*
As part of the care team, the Registered Dietitian provides professional assessment, planning, and monitoring of residents’ nutritional and hydration needs. This role supports residents at all levels of nutritional risk and collaborates closely with Nursing, Food Services, and Recreation teams to ensure dietary care aligns with resident goals, regulations, and quality standards.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Complete nutritional and swallowing assessments for all new residents upon admission.
* Establish and maintain individualized nutrition care plans and risk levels.
* Monitor and reassess residents at high and moderate nutrition risk at least quarterly.
* Review diet orders and ensure accuracy of dietary communication tools.
* Approve and monitor tray services and therapeutic diets.
* Attend resident care conferences, food committees, and other interdisciplinary meetings.
* Collaborate with the Food Service Manager to review and approve menus and recipes.
* Participate in licensing reviews, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide staff education on nutrition, hydration, and safe dietary practices.
* Contribute to the development and revision of nutrition-related policies and procedures.
*Qualifications*
* *Registered Dietitian (RD)* in good standing with the *College of Dietitians of British Columbia*.
* Demonstrated experience in *geriatric nutrition* within a long-term care or health care setting.
* Strong understanding of the *BC Long-Term Care Regulations* for Nutrition and Food Services.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
experience with *PointClickCare* is an asset.
* Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
*Work Hours & Compensation*
* *Hours:* 22.5 hours per week, with the possibility of up to 40 hours per week.
* *Schedule:* Primarily daytime hours (Monday to Friday).
* *Compensation:* Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
