Position: Purchasing Officer (Animal Feed & Forage Export)
Wage: CAD $35.00 $38.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 30-40 hours/week
Benefits: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties:
• Purchase materials, ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, and business services required for animal feed & forage production and export
• Assess operational requirements and develop specifications for materials, equipment, and supplies to be purchased
• Invite tenders, consult with demotic and international suppliers, and review and evaluate quotations
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions, administer supply agreements, and award or recommend supplier contracts
• Establish and oversee delivery schedules related to purchased goods and liaise with suppliers and internal team responsible procurement-related issues
• Ensure purchased materials and services comply with Canadian regulatory requirements and applicable export standards
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing trends, and market conditions
• Supervisor and provide guidance to purchasing clerks or administrative staff, as applicable
Job Requirements:
• Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or degree in business administration, commerce, economics, supply chain management, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain related roles
• Experience supporting export operations is considered an asset
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
