JOB SUMMARY:
In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing both mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure FPI's production equipment and facilities remain in continuous good working order. This role combines traditional millwright duties with advanced electrical troubleshooting and installation.
This is a unionized position which offers a competitive starting wage of $40.61 per hour. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Perform unplanned/reactive repairs and root cause analysis, fault finding and diagnosis, as well as recovery and resolution for both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and automated equipment.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance, Inspection and calibration on production equipment.
- Make recommendations for component/process improvements and inspection methods through Preventative Maintenance continuous improvement program.
- Install, test, and commission new manufacturing equipment, including wiring and electrical connections.
- Disassemble, relocate, and reassemble production lines and equipment
- Maintain documentation related to the inspection, repair, and other Maintenance activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards during all electrical work.
- Ongoing maintenance and 5S for the production and facilities equipment
- Performing research and training on various machinery/equipment as needed
- Follow all Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of gaining knowledge and understanding
- Other related duties as specified by Supervisor/ Manager
QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFICATIONS:
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally)
- Capable of working at heights
- Strong understanding of electrical/electronic control circuits, automation systems, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, electrical drawings, and CAD engineering drawings.
- Proficient in troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
Education/Training
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- Experience with the repair and maintenance of CNC Machine, Robotic Welding, and other manufacturing equipment
- Experience with electrical installations, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Experience on CMMS reporting system would be an asset
