Our heavy industrial machinery manufacturer in Toronto is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and elevate our electrical engineering function. In this role, you’ll oversee the full electrical design lifecycle while developing a high-performing team that delivers complex capital equipment projects on time and to the highest quality standards.

What You’ll Do
As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in shaping project outcomes and engineering excellence across the organization.
- Lead and manage a team of 10–15 electrical professionals (controls engineers, PLC programmers, designers, software engineers, and field technicians)
- Own the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical design from concept through release and commissioning
- Translate customer requirements into complete, compliant electrical designs and execution plans
- Develop electrical concepts, perform research and analysis, and oversee creation of detailed drawings
- Ensure electrical design reviews, documentation, and milestones are completed and recorded accurately
- Drive adherence to company product development processes, standards, and ISO requirements
- Ensure designs meet customer purchase orders, internal standards, and M8 release deadlines
- Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and warranty phases (M8–M12)
- Coordinate field support, service issues, on-site installations, and customer training
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members through performance management and cross-training

- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
What You Bring
- Engineering degree or related undergraduate degree
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a capital equipment environment, with senior-level design and leadership responsibilities
- heavy industrial environment experience i.e. metal, stamping, metalforming, high-precision
- Strong background in electrical design, controls and PLC systems
- Advanced experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software
- Ability to create electrical concepts, detailed drawings, and compliant design packages
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineered products
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and deliver result
