This Field Installation Technician will need 2+ years of experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment.
This is a TRAVELING role 80% of the time! Most work will be around Montreal, but must be able to travel between Canada and the US.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- - Proven experience as an Installation or service technician or similar role.
- - 2+ years of experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment (pneumatic, electrical and mechanical).
- - Demonstrated success in supporting high-performance teams in a technical project environment.
- - Solid technical background with understanding of installation procedures.
- - Ability to support and coordinate multiple teams during installation phases.
- - Working in the field performing physical installation tasks at least 80% of time.
- - Industrial facilities in the field at the customer location supporting various industries.
- - 5 Days Per week US / Canadian Travel.
- - Ability to modify PLC program (not a requirement but a plus).
Responsibilities/Duties:
- - Detailed review of new system installations to confirm prints and functioning as designed.
- - Conduct startup and commission of new installations.
- - Generate installation and commissioning reports.
- - Provide support to sub-contractors to ensure installation steps are completed with the expected level of quality per the design intent.
- - Conduct training for operations and maintenance groups.
- - Conduct over phone support to customers.
- - Trouble shoot and diagnose mechanical systems during start up phases of installation.
- - Trouble shoot and diagnose electrical systems during start up phases of installation.
- - Review existing PLC programs for troubleshoot and diagnose of installation and commissioning steps.
- - Check inventory of delivered components to validate all parts are available for installation.
- - Communicate with the customer through the installation phase for any inquiries and requirements from the customer scope of work.
- - Solicitation and gather feedback from sub-contractors for use of continuous improvement for installation processes and standards
- - Work with PMs and PEs to derisk potential field issues during the installation phase.
- - Daily communication of project status including punch list items and risks to project delivery.
- - Identify potential risks in the installation phase and develop mitigation strategies.
- - Monitor and evaluate risk factors to ensure proactive decision-making.
- - Implement quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of installations.
