Title: Electrical Technician III
Location: Edmonton, AB
Duration: 1 year (with a possibility of extension)
Start Date: Min-Jan 2026
Roster - Monday to Friday, every second Friday off - 9-hour day (40 hours) except Friday which is 8.
What you will do:
As an Electrical Technician, you will have a vital part in guaranteeing the smooth operation of our electrical equipment. Your duties will involve:
• Performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical and associated equipment such as valves, motors, turbine and/or PD meters, sampling systems, relief systems, and other electrical devices.
• Coordinating activities with Supervisors, Planners/Schedulers, Mechanical Technicians, Electricians Technicians, CCO, Regional Support, contractors, and PLM to plan, schedule, and complete all work safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring all maintenance work aligns with regulations and company Operation & Maintenance (O&M) procedure requirements.
• Being on call as required for emergency responses and maintenance.
• Completing and staying current on all required safety and technical training.
• Maintaining facility records and updating drawings as necessary.
• Adhering to all company policies.
Who you are:
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience and Journeyperson Electrical with provincial or interprovincial certification. An instrumentation background is an asset.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in an industrial field
• Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
• Proven strong work ethic, good computer skills, a willingness to learn, and a positive team attitude.
• Adherence to the clients fundamental principles of safety, integrity, respect, inclusion and high performance.
Working Conditions:
• Working an Alternative Work Schedule: 9/80 (44 hours: Monday to Thursday 9 hours/day, Friday 1: Off, Friday 2: 8 hours).
• A mix of field (~80%) and office (~20%) environments.
• Working on and around high voltage equipment, transformers, disconnects, switchgear, motor control centers, electrical service buildings, etc.
• Operating in hazardous or restricted locations such as pump rooms, confined spaces, tank lots, and classified areas within the yard and ROW.
• Travel and on-call responsibilities for assigned areas and stations.
• Capable of performing outdoor duties in various weather conditions, handling physically challenging responsibilities such as standing, sitting, bending, walking, crouching, and repetitively lifting up to 50lbs.
