Join the team that treats compliance as a strategic weapon, not a box-ticking exercise.
Our client is a fast-growing, tech-driven iGaming and sports betting operator with bold ambitions across Canada.
They are looking for a Compliance Manager who can do far more than keep them out of trouble – someone who will shape how they compete, launch, and scale in one of the world’s most exciting regulated markets.
If you enjoy being at the centre of regulators, product, marketing, and leadership – this is where you have a real seat at the table.
The Opportunity
You will be the primary owner of the compliance agenda in Canada, with a sharp focus on AGCO and iGaming Ontario requirements. You will build, refine, and drive a compliance framework that is robust enough for regulators, yet agile enough for a high-growth digital business.
Expect visibility, influence, and the ability to say, “We’re doing it this way – and here’s why.”
What You Will Do
- Own and evolve the compliance framework for Canada, ensuring full alignment with AGCO and iGaming Ontario regulations.
- Track regulatory changes and emerging expectations, translating them into clear, actionable requirements for teams across the business.
- Draft, refine, and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls that people actually use – not just file away.
- Lead licensing, approvals, renewals, and regulatory reporting, ensuring deadlines are never missed and submissions are airtight.
- Embed compliance into day-to-day operations by partnering with Product, Marketing, Risk, Payments, and Customer Operations.
- Oversee key areas such as responsible gambling , KYC , AML , fraud , data protection , and marketing compliance .
- Develop and deliver engaging training that raises the bar for compliance awareness and ownership across the organisation.
- Run internal monitoring, testing, and thematic reviews; drive remediation and ensure issues are closed properly, not just “parked.”
- Represent the business with regulators, auditors, and external partners – confidently and credibly.
- Provide sharp, concise reporting to senior leadership on compliance risks, incidents, and trends.
What You Bring
- Solid experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk within iGaming, sports betting, online casinos, or another regulated financial/online industry .
- Hands-on exposure to Canadian gaming regulation, ideally including direct interaction with AGCO and iGaming Ontario .
- Strong grounding in AML, KYC, responsible gambling, data privacy, and marketing rules in a digital environment.
- The ability to take complex regulation and distil it into straightforward guidance and workable processes.
- Confidence to challenge, influence, and persuade senior stakeholders while remaining solutions-focused.
- A structured, detail-driven approach, with the calmness to manage deadlines and multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant qualifications in law, compliance, or risk are an advantage, but your track record and attitude matter most.
Useful skills and tools:
Gaming regulations, AGCO, iGaming Ontario, AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, responsible gambling frameworks, risk assessment, policy drafting, internal audit, regulatory reporting, data protection, complaints handling, stakeholder management, Excel, PowerPoint, compliance and monitoring systems.
