Are you passionate about electrical safety, mission-critical infrastructure, and driving operational excellence? We are seeking a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer (Energy Marshal) to support large-scale Data Center operations and development for a global infrastructure environment. This role is at the forefront of ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operation of complex MEP systems across 24x7x365 data center activities.
Key Responsibilities
As the site’s Energy Marshal , you will serve as the single point of accountability for all energy isolation activities, overseeing safe work processes across construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Managing the Energy Isolation Program across the site, ensuring full compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Reviewing and approving documentation including PTWs, MOPs, Job Hazard Analyses, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
- Validating energy isolation permitting processes, LOTO procedures (individual, group, centralized), and assurance audits.
- Collaborating with construction & commissioning teams to ensure safe energization, testing, and validation of MEP systems.
- Leading non-conformance investigations and driving corrective action plans.
- Supporting high-risk activity (HRA) planning, change management processes, and safety-related technical clarifications.
- Partnering with EHS teams to reinforce a strong culture of safety, compliance, and hazard control.
- Reviewing personnel qualifications for Energy Isolation Coordinators and Authorizing Marshals.
- Acting as the SME during incident investigations related to energy isolation.
- Exercising full independent authority to stop unsafe work at any time.
Preferred Experience
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, industrial, or Process Engineering .
- 4–5+ years in data center construction , critical facilities, or large multi-disciplinary construction projects.
- Deep experience with critical electrical systems: switchgear, UPS, generators, grounding, fire/life safety, and controls.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, SLD interpretation, and MEP system functionality.
- Training in OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E (or equivalent electrical safety standards).
- Experience with building automation systems, BMS, and electrical control frameworks.
- Strong analytical, communication, planning, and technical writing skills—able to lead and author incident reports.
