Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2 Licensed) to perform maintenance, repair, and inspection activities on a variety of commercial aircraft. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Transport Canada AME M2 License and possess hands-on experience in both line and heavy maintenance operations , ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards.
Key Objectives
- Possess a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License issued by Transport Canada, authorizing certification of aircraft as airworthy and flight-ready.
- Perform skilled mechanical work involving the repair, overhaul, rebuilding, maintenance, and servicing of aircraft and related systems .
- Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and adjustments on key components such as electrical, avionics, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine, brake, and control systems .
- Carry out and oversee structural repairs and ensure compliance with Transport Canada airworthiness standards .
- Maintain, repair, and service shop equipment, airside vehicles, and maintenance support tools.
- Perform assigned tasks efficiently, maintaining a high degree of quality, safety, and reliability .
- Contribute to reducing premature component failures and maintaining a high level of aircraft dispatch reliability .
Key Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft and components.
- Ensure all aircraft and ground equipment are maintained and serviced promptly .
- Perform daily maintenance and overhaul program tasks following approved procedures.
- Inspect aircraft and engines, perform necessary repairs, replacements, and adjustments.
- May direct and mentor aircraft apprentices and trades helpers .
- May be required to fly with the aircraft as a flight engineer when needed.
Core Competencies
- Ability to operate and taxi aircraft and perform engine runs as approved by Quality Assurance.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs for component replacement tasks.
- Proficient in operating high lifts, forklifts , and working from heights or ladders.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, fire prevention , and maintenance best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures and inspection systems .
- Familiarity with aircraft materials, parts, and regulatory standards governing airworthiness and quarantine procedures.
- Ability to accurately record data and documentation to substantiate airworthiness.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments, test equipment, and maintenance tools .
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel .
Education, Training & Experience
- Post-secondary Aircraft Technical Training and Aircraft Endorsement courses .
- Valid Transport Canada AME M2 License .
- Type Rating or experience with B757, B767, or B777 aircraft preferred.
- Ability to obtain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) .
Work Environment
- Work may be performed in hangars or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Shift work required (including nights, weekends, or holidays as scheduled).
- Must be physically capable of performing all assigned maintenance duties.
