Director of Pre-Construction — ICI Projects
Role summary
Own the ground improvement scope during pre-construction for ICI builds—turning geotechnical risk into a clear, priced, and buildable plan.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret geotech reports and define practical improvement approaches (e.g., rigid inclusions, vibro/stone columns, grouting, deep mixing, wick drains) based on performance and schedule.
- Build early budgets, production-based assumptions, and contingency tied to subsurface uncertainty and site constraints.
- Lead trade engagement: scope writing, RFQs, bid leveling, and recommendation of best-value solutions.
- Identify constructability and risk (access, groundwater, vibrations, spoil, sequencing) and document mitigations for handoff to operations.
- Align design/engineering and permitting requirements so the ground improvement strategy is “approval-ready” and field-executable.
What we’re looking for
- Strong ground improvement + estimating/pre-construction experience in ICI environments, with a sharp sense for risk, means & methods, and cost drivers.
