Senior Mechanical Engineer – Healthcare Projects
Locations: Toronto, London, Kitchener, Kingston, Ontario (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $125,000 – $150,000
Skyline Recruitment is currently partnering with a well-established Canadian consulting engineering firm to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong healthcare project experience .
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced building services professional who has spent their career delivering technically complex mechanical designs in regulated, high-performance environments such as hospitals, laboratories, long-term care facilities, and medical clinics.
You’ll play a senior technical role, contributing to projects that directly support patient care, clinical outcomes, and community infrastructure—while also helping shape internal standards and mentor the next generation of engineers.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and stamp mechanical designs across a range of project scales and complexities
- Lead mechanical design concepts and technical strategies on complex assignments
- Conduct audits, feasibility studies, investigations, and prepare technical reports
- Perform site visits and provide construction-phase engineering support
- Support the ongoing development of internal mechanical design standards
- Mentor and guide intermediate and junior engineers and designers
Ideal Background
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario
- 10+ years of mechanical building systems design experience
- Strong healthcare sector exposure, including CSA Z317 familiarity
- Experience with central plant systems (hot water, steam, chilled water)
- Strong knowledge of DDC / building automation systems, including sequences of operation and troubleshooting
- Broad project exposure across sectors such as healthcare, commercial, institutional, industrial, or government
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
