Our client is a boutique Toronto-based law firm who represents a broad range of local, national and international clients in the real estate sector. They are seeking a Legal Assistant to support one of our lawyers with a high volume of daily administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Filing condominium faxes and emails for the lawyer on a weekly basis
- Respond to Occupancy Requests (via email, phone and fax) for each project.
- Release and reservation releases including preparing accounting forms, cheque requisitions and
- cover letter.
- Prepare revival agreements
- Enter docket into PcLaw and prepare invoice
- Complete forms to permit estate trustee to close or assign alternative in the case of a deceased
- purchaser
- Process default and termination letters
- Provide trust ledgers to clients monthly or as requested
- Prepare Minute books
- Draft condominium documents (standard and common element)
- Use Teraview to prepare draft E-Reg Documents (By-laws, Notices, Charge/Discharges etc.), register
- certain documents and submit accounting forms for E-Reg
- Prepare checklists, requisition letters, draft closing documents/statements, order title insurance and
- prepare reporting letter and index of documents for purchase/sale transactions
- Process monthly expense reports
- Set reminders for closings or turnover dates
Qualifications:
- 2+ years in an office/administrative role
- Punctual, reliable and responsible
- Organized with strong time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage your time in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- Experience with Teraview, PcLaw and LDD is an asset
- Experience in a law firm is an asset
