Compensation : $75,000 to $85,000 + 10% Performance- based Annual bonus
Start Date: February 2026

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for an experienced Manager, People & Culture (Canada) to join our team in this very exciting and high-impact role! You will play a key part in supporting our day-to-day business operations and will touch all functional areas of HR (employee relations, compliance, reporting, learning/development, employee engagement, total rewards, HR projects and HR administration). In this role, you will provide consultative support and deliver collaborative, comprehensive and innovative solutions to all levels of the organization. This is a primarily on-site role (4 days/week with the ability to work from home 1 day/week) in a dog-friendly office. You will lead and inspire 1+ direct reports
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, addressing concerns and fostering a positive, fair and inclusive workplace.
- Conduct check-ins with employees and managers to ensure engagement, address concerns, and provide ongoing support in a comprehensive and timely manner.
- Advise and ensure consistency in the interpretation and operational application of corporate policies, programs, guidelines, and procedures.
- Liaise with supervisors to prepare constructive corrective action documentation and ensure proper processes are adhered to.
- Conduct investigations in a timely manner and close out all reports.
Manager Coaching
- Support managers in areas like performance management, engagement and team development.
- Provide consultative HR support to align people initiatives with business priorities.
Leave & Benefits Support
- Support the full employee cycle of benefits and leave administration, including processing enrollment/termination and LOAs (disability, parental, and other statutory leaves)
- Guide employees through life events, such as parental leave, disability and other leaves
HR Planning
- Partner with business leaders to meet critical timelines and deliverables for HR initiatives and reporting.
- Provide insight on organizational structures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Partner with the broader HR team to design and implement plans aligned with business needs.
Total Rewards
- Help manage the annual merit process and ensure compliance with employment equity standards.
- Analyze HR data to develop solutions and address people-related business challenges.
- Execute HR projects by clarifying objectives, setting timelines, conducting research, and preparing actionable recommendations.
- Assist with future enhancements to total rewards.
Policy & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to HR policies and legal requirements while promoting best practices.
- Stay up to date on the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and other relevant legislation to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Update and develop HR policies to reflect legislative and internal changes.
- Act as the Canadian compliance SME, staying current on employment legislation and regulatory changes.
- Support audits, reporting, and ensure required postings and regulatory materials are in place.
HR Operations
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Manage HRIS accuracy and provide monthly and quarterly HR reporting and analytics.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR practices and enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Provide coverage for HR team members on PTO.
Culture & Engagement
- Foster a positive workplace culture through open communication and proactive resolution of employee concerns
- Support engagement initiatives and surveys, including administration, data analysis, reporting, and action planning.
- Partner with HR team to share HR updates during monthly town halls.
Other
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Demonstrate commitment to health and safety standards.
RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management (CHRP/CHRL designation would be an asset)
- 5+ years of progressive generalist (HR) experience
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience partnering with legal on escalated matters would be an asset
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, with intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience with HRIS and reporting (experience in Dayforce is an asset)
- Working knowledge of employment laws, regulations and best practices
- Strong business acumen and the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy and high ethical standards
- Solutions-focused: not just answering the question, but solving the problem
- Resourceful: keeping updated on HR data, trends, changes
- Exceptional communication skills (written and oral) and cross-cultural awareness
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
